Frowns and Smiles

Brooklyn had picture day at preschool... or so I thought. I got her all ready and then I found out I was about two weeks early. Oops. This is her in all dressed up. Today, it snowed... a lot.... about 3 inches. I thought I would try and do a short photo shoot with Cole. Alas, it was very short. About 40 seconds. He was not having it. Poor kid. (Don't worry. I put him on a white towel so he wasn't even touching the snow. I was surprised he was so mad at me.)
Cole has been climbing many things. Yesterday I was folding laundry from the dryer and he crawled right in. He was pretty proud of himself. Note to self: always check dryer. (My mom tells the story of my older sister when she was three. The dryer turned off and my sister climbed in and fell asleep on the warm clothes. Mom turned the dryer on and... well, she was never the same. My sister also has the memory and it is funny hearing the stories from both point of view.)In our little town, there is one high school and home coming week is a huge deal. They shut down the main street and have a huge parade and all the kids in the school district get to march in the parade. It was SO much fun to see Todd. All the kindergarteners dressed as Abraham Lincoln. Look right above the girls beard in the front of the picture and you will see my Todd.

Cole the climber... more things to watch for. With the weather getting rapidly colder, we have already begun to use our fire place to help warm our house. I have been frantically trying to teach Cole that he can get hurt from the fire place. He has done pretty good and after doing a few time outs in the crib and telling him no, no, he seems to be getting it (thank goodness).

Todd and Brooklyn waiting for the car pool one morning before school. As I mentioned, we have begun using our fire place. The kids love to roast marshmellows - or smarshmellows as Brooklyn calls them. I think the Mr. loves to roast them too. We do that often for an FHE treat.

The fire looks so warm and welcoming. Especially now that the snow has fallen. Happy Halloween.
